Header Customization and Installation

To complement the high flow charistics of the rest of my engine, I purchased a Rod's Header. I have been somewhat pleased with this piece, however I do not think that it was completeny engineeried for the environment I put it through.

To complement the high flow charistics of the rest of my engine, I purchased a Rod's Header. I have been somewhat pleased with this piece, however I do not think that it was completeny engineeried for the environment I put it through. After many changes and help from Dave at Hartwood Automotive, and then further help from the folks at Valley Precision, we have it to a point that it is withstanding the stress of road racing.

The material and craftsmanship of this header are the best available. However, so that it would survive through our purposes, we have changed a few critical areas from the origional design. Those changes are:

Coating with Indy-caliber header coating, inside and out
Extension of wastegate pipe to remove "oven"
Reinforcement of wastegate pipe
Use of high performance wastegate gaskets

Those four things took many trial-and-error excercises and many nights of frustration.
